International vs Domestic Flights at Sihanoukville Airport (KOS)
Sihanoukville International Airport (IATA: KOS, ICAO: VDSV), situated in Prey Nob district adjacent to Ream National Park, serves two distinct types of travellers: passengers arriving on direct international flights from regional Asian hubs, and passengers connecting on domestic flights from Siem Reap (SAI) or Phnom Penh (KTI).
If you fly directly into KOS from abroad, KOS is your official Port of Entry into Cambodia: you will clear immigration, scan your Cambodia e-Arrival QR code, present your Cambodia eVisa, and receive your digital v-Pass at KOS. If you first land at KTI or SAI and take a domestic connecting flight to KOS, you clear immigration and scan your e-Arrival QR code at your first arrival airport (KTI or SAI).
- Direct international flights into KOS require both a Cambodia eVisa (unless exempt) and a Cambodia e-Arrival QR code.
- Fast clearance at KOS is critical if you are trying to make the final afternoon high-speed ferry to Koh Rong.
- Sihanoukville connects to Phnom Penh via the modern Phnom Penh–Sihanoukville Expressway (approx. 2 hours 15 minutes by car).
