Afghan travellers cannot apply for the Cambodia eVisa online. Cambodia requires Afghan passport holders to apply for a visa directly through a Cambodian embassy or consulate. We do not currently offer assistance for embassy-issued visas — please contact your nearest Cambodian embassy or consulate for the most current application requirements.
The complete picture of the Cambodia tourist visa and Cambodia e-Visa for Afghan citizens: fees, processing time, requirements, and what actually happens at the border.
Cambodia visa options for Afghan citizens
No — Afghan passport holders cannot use the Cambodia eVisa, and visa on arrival is not available either. The Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs excludes Afghanistan from both schemes, so the only way to obtain a Cambodia visa is to apply at the nearest Cambodian embassy before you travel — for Afghan nationals the practical regional missions are the Royal Embassy of Cambodia in New Delhi or the embassy in Bangkok (Kabul has no Cambodian post). Our service is personal assistance — we prepare your embassy document pack, advise on New Delhi versus Bangkok routing and book the appointment.
Embassy-issued Cambodia tourist visas must be arranged ahead of your trip, and fees and processing times are set by each embassy — confirm with your nearest Cambodian mission (currently the Royal Embassy of Cambodia in New Delhi, India). You'll need a passport valid for 6+ months and supporting documents such as proof of onward travel.
What you'll typically need for your embassy application:
Valid Afghan passport (6+ months from arrival)
Passport-style photos (per embassy specs)
Completed embassy visa application form
Return or onward travel ticket
Proof of accommodation in Cambodia
Apply early — embassy processing varies, so build in time before you fly. You'll also need to complete the mandatory e-Arrival form online within 7 days before landing, separately from your embassy visa.

Pro tips
Cambodia Travel Tips for Afghan Citizens
Practical advice from travellers who've been — currency, connectivity, weather, and the eVisa print rule that catches everyone out at Cambodian immigration.
Currency
US dollars are accepted almost everywhere alongside Cambodian Riel. You do not need to exchange currency before flying — small change comes back in Riel.
Best time to visit
November to April (dry season). May to October brings monsoon rains — southern coastal regions are most affected. November to February is the sweet spot for Angkor Wat.
Connectivity
Buy a local SIM at Phnom Penh or Siem Reap airport ($2–3 USD). Most foreign phones work on GSM. Metfone and Smart are the recommended carriers — both have airport kiosks.
Health
No mandatory vaccinations. Hepatitis A and Typhoid are commonly recommended. Drink bottled water only — even in major hotels. Carry mosquito repellent for evening visits to temples.
Print your eVisa
Print 2 copies of your approved eVisa on A4 paper. Cambodian immigration does NOT accept mobile screenshots. We email PDF-ready files with print instructions.

Can Afghan citizens get a Cambodia eVisa or visa on arrival?
No — neither the eVisa nor visa on arrival is available to Afghan passport holders. You must apply for your Cambodia visa at the nearest Cambodian embassy before travelling. Afghanistan is on Cambodia's restricted list, so the embassy route is the only way to obtain a tourist or business visa.
How do Afghan citizens apply for a Cambodia visa?
Apply at the nearest Cambodian embassy before you travel — for Afghan nationals the practical missions are the Royal Embassy of Cambodia in New Delhi or the embassy in Bangkok, as there is no Cambodian post in Kabul. Submit your passport, one passport-style photo, the visa application form, a confirmed return or onward ticket and a hotel booking. The embassy issues a sticker visa in your passport before you fly.
How much is the Cambodia visa fee for Afghan citizens?
Visa fees are set by each Cambodian mission, so confirm the current tourist (T) and business (E) visa fees directly with your nearest embassy when you book your appointment.
What documents do Afghan citizens need for a Cambodia embassy visa?
ℹ️ Disclaimer: The total cost includes the official government fee paid to the Royal Government of Cambodia, plus our processing fee for expert application processing and 24/7 support. VisaToCambodia is an independent service — not affiliated with the Government of Cambodia. Applicants may also apply directly through the official Cambodian government portal at the base government rate.
Getting around
Tuk-tuks are everywhere — agree the fare first. The PassApp and Grab apps give metered, cashless rides in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap. Domestic flights link the major cities.
An Afghan passport valid for at least 6 months with two blank pages, one recent 4x6 cm passport photo, the embassy visa application form, a confirmed return or onward ticket, and a hotel booking for your first nights. You will also complete the Cambodia e-Arrival form online within seven days before landing.
Is visa on arrival available to Afghan passport holders?
No. Visa on arrival is not available to Afghan passport holders, and Afghan passports are routinely refused at airport and land-border counters. You must apply at a Cambodian embassy in advance, which gives you written confirmation before you fly.
How long can Afghan citizens stay in Cambodia?
An embassy-issued tourist visa allows a single entry of up to 30 days from the date of arrival. You can extend once inside Cambodia through the Cambodian Ministry of Interior or a licensed agent for an additional 30 days.
What is the Cambodia e-Arrival form and is it required for Afghans?
Yes, the e-Arrival form is mandatory for every air traveller, including Afghan passport holders who hold an embassy visa. Submit it free at arrival.gov.kh within seven days before landing — it replaces the paper immigration, customs, and health cards but does not replace your visa.
Why isn't the Cambodia eVisa available for Afghan passport holders?
Cambodia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation excludes Afghanistan from the eVisa system and from visa on arrival. The official policy directs Afghan citizens to apply through a Cambodian embassy before travel. The reasons are administrative, not personal, and the list is reviewed periodically.
