The e-Arrival Card is checked when you land

You file the Cambodia e-Arrival Card before you travel, but it does its job when you arrive. At immigration, your QR code is scanned to pull up the declaration you submitted, and it is read alongside your passport and, if you need one, your visa. It is the digital replacement for the arrival card, health form and customs slip that used to be handed in on paper.

The official e-Arrival system lists three checkpoints, all of them international airports. This guide covers each one, what the arrivals process looks like, and what you should have in your hand when you reach the front of the queue.

The whole point of the e-Arrival Card is that the officer is confirming details you have already submitted rather than taking them down by hand. When the card matches the passport, the check is quick. When it does not, it is where delays start.

What to have in your hand at immigration

• Save your QR code offline: a screenshot, a download or a printout, or the official app, which shows it without a connection.
• Travelling with family? Keep each person’s passport and QR code together as a set.
• Keep your documents out of your checked luggage.

Techo International Airport has automated arrival and departure smart gates. They are open to holders of eligible passports. According to the official e-Arrival system, eligible passports include those of Cambodia and the other ASEAN countries (Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Laos, the Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Myanmar, Brunei and Timor-Leste), China, Japan, Hong Kong SAR, India, Macao SAR, South Korea, the United States, Australia, France, Germany and the United Kingdom.
