Embassy Visa Required
Cambodia Visa for Sri Lankan Citizens
Sri Lankan travellers cannot apply for the Cambodia eVisa online. Cambodia requires Sri Lankan passport holders to apply for a visa directly through a Cambodian embassy or consulate. We do not currently offer assistance for embassy-issued visas — please contact your nearest Cambodian embassy or consulate for the most current application requirements.

Cambodia visa options for Sri Lankan citizens
No — Sri Lankan passport holders cannot use the Cambodia eVisa, and visa on arrival is not available either. The Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs excludes Sri Lanka from both schemes, so the only way to obtain a Cambodia visa is to apply at the nearest Cambodian embassy before you travel — for Sri Lankan nationals the practical regional mission is the Cambodian Embassy in Bangkok, as there is no Cambodian post in Colombo. Our service is personal assistance — we prepare your embassy document pack, advise on Colombo CMB via Singapore SIN on Singapore Airlines or Kuala Lumpur KUL on Malaysia Airlines or AirAsia routing and book the appointment.
Embassy-issued Cambodia tourist visas must be arranged ahead of your trip, and fees and processing times are set by each embassy — confirm with your nearest Cambodian mission (currently the Royal Embassy of Cambodia in New Delhi, India). You'll need a passport valid for 6+ months and supporting documents such as proof of onward travel.
What you'll typically need for your embassy application:
Valid Sri Lankan passport (6+ months from arrival)
Passport-style photos (per embassy specs)
Completed embassy visa application form
Return or onward travel ticket
Proof of accommodation in Cambodia
Apply early — embassy processing varies, so build in time before you fly. You'll also need to complete the mandatory e-Arrival form online within 7 days before landing, separately from your embassy visa.

Why you're going
Things to Do in Cambodia for Sri Lankan Travelers
Sri Lankan travellers visiting Cambodia split into three main groups: Buddhist pilgrims drawn to Angkor Wat and the Theravada heritage of Siem Reap, apparel and garment buyers auditing Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville factories, and independent tourists exploring the Bangkok-Cambodia-Vietnam ASEAN circuit. With your embassy visa secured, the classic itinerary is Siem Reap for 3-4 days at Angkor Wat, Bayon, Ta Prohm and Banteay Srei — the temple architecture resonates strongly with visitors familiar with Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa — then Phnom Penh for the Royal Palace and the riverside. Sri Lankan and Indian restaurants are concentrated in Phnom Penh's BKK1 district.

Pro tips
Cambodia Travel Tips for Sri Lankan Citizens
Practical advice from travellers who've been — currency, connectivity, weather, and the eVisa print rule that catches everyone out at Cambodian immigration.
Currency
US dollars are accepted almost everywhere alongside Cambodian Riel. You do not need to exchange currency before flying — small change comes back in Riel.
Best time to visit
November to April (dry season). May to October brings monsoon rains — southern coastal regions are most affected. November to February is the sweet spot for Angkor Wat.
Connectivity
Buy a local SIM at Phnom Penh or Siem Reap airport ($2–3 USD). Most foreign phones work on GSM. Metfone and Smart are the recommended carriers — both have airport kiosks.
Health
No mandatory vaccinations. Hepatitis A and Typhoid are commonly recommended. Drink bottled water only — even in major hotels. Carry mosquito repellent for evening visits to temples.
Print your eVisa
Print 2 copies of your approved eVisa on A4 paper. Cambodian immigration does NOT accept mobile screenshots. We email PDF-ready files with print instructions.

Can Sri Lankan citizens get a Cambodia eVisa or visa on arrival?
No — neither the eVisa nor visa on arrival is available to Sri Lankan passport holders. You must apply for your Cambodia visa at the nearest Cambodian embassy before travelling. Sri Lanka is on Cambodia's restricted-nationality list, so the embassy route is the only way to obtain a tourist or business visa — the Royal Cambodian Embassy in Bangkok is the closest mission and handles the Bangkok-issued sticker visa for the Colombo-Singapore-Bangkok-Phnom Penh route.
How do Sri Lankan citizens apply for a Cambodia visa?
Apply at the nearest Cambodian embassy before you travel — the Royal Cambodian Embassy in Bangkok is the practical mission for Sri Lankan nationals, as there is no Cambodian post in Colombo. Hand over your Sri Lankan passport, one passport photo, the visa application form, a confirmed return or onward ticket and a hotel booking. The embassy issues a sticker visa in your passport before departure.
How much is the Cambodia visa fee for Sri Lankan citizens?
The tourist (T) and business (E) visa fees are set by each Cambodian embassy, so confirm the current amounts with your nearest mission when you book your appointment.
What documents do Sri Lankan citizens need for a Cambodia embassy visa?
ℹ️ Disclaimer: The total cost includes the official government fee paid to the Royal Government of Cambodia, plus our processing fee for expert application processing and 24/7 support. VisaToCambodia is an independent service — not affiliated with the Government of Cambodia. Applicants may also apply directly through the official Cambodian government portal at the base government rate.
Getting around
Tuk-tuks are everywhere — agree the fare first. The PassApp and Grab apps give metered, cashless rides in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap. Domestic flights link the major cities.
A Sri Lankan passport valid for at least six months with two blank pages, one 4x6 cm passport-style photo, the embassy visa application form, a confirmed return or onward ticket, a hotel booking for the first nights, and a completed Cambodia e-Arrival form filed online within seven days before flying.
Is visa on arrival available to Sri Lankan passport holders?
No. Visa on arrival is not available to Sri Lankan passport holders. An embassy-issued sticker visa from the Royal Cambodian Embassy in Bangkok puts the visa in your passport before departure and removes any doubt at the airport, and is the only valid route into Cambodia.
How long can Sri Lankan citizens stay in Cambodia?
An embassy-issued tourist visa allows a single entry and a 30-day stay from arrival. Tourist (T) visa holders can extend once inside Cambodia for another 30 days through the General Department of Immigration in Phnom Penh.
What is the Cambodia e-Arrival form for Sri Lankan travellers?
The Cambodia e-Arrival form is the digital immigration, customs, and health declaration required for every air arrival, including Sri Lankan passport holders who hold an embassy visa. Submit it free at arrival.gov.kh within seven days before landing. It is not a visa.
Why isn't the Cambodia eVisa available for Sri Lankan passport holders?
Cambodia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation excludes Sri Lanka from the eVisa and visa-on-arrival schemes as an administrative measure. The official route for Sri Lankan citizens is a tourist visa from a Cambodian embassy before travel; the policy is reviewed periodically.
