Entering Cambodia from the UK in 2026 means a valid passport, a visa and the Cambodia e-Arrival Card, and Phnom Penh now has a new airport. Here is everything British travellers need, in the order they need it, and what to expect when they land.

A British passport valid for at least six months beyond entry with a blank page, a Cambodian visa (eVisa or visa on arrival), and the Cambodia e-Arrival Card filed online within 7 days of landing. You show your passport, visa and e-Arrival QR code at Immigration at Techo International, Siem Reap Angkor or Sihanoukville.
Cambodia’s entry process has changed more in the last two years than in the decade before. The paper arrival card has gone, Phnom Penh has a new airport, and the passport stamp has been replaced by an emailed v-Pass. The core requirements for British travellers, though, are short and stable. Here they are in one table.
Our main guide to the Cambodia visa for UK citizens goes deeper into the visa side; this guide focuses on how the pieces fit together and what happens when you land.
Your British passport should be valid for at least six months beyond the date you enter Cambodia and have at least one blank page. Check the expiry date the day you book, not the week you fly. If you need to renew, do it before you apply for the visa or file the e-Arrival Card, because both are tied to the passport number and a new passport means a new number.
If you are a dual national, choose one passport for the whole trip and use it for everything: the visa, the e-Arrival Card and the immigration desk. If you hold a British passport other than a full British citizen passport, such as a British National (Overseas) passport, check your visa eligibility separately before you pay for anything.
British passport holders need a visa for Cambodia. There are two ways to get one. The eVisa is applied for online before you travel and arrives by email. The visa on arrival is issued at the airport, which means joining the visa desk queue and paying in US dollars cash after a long-haul flight.
Most British holidaymakers use the Type T tourist eVisa. It allows a 30-day stay from the date you enter and is valid for 90 days from issue. The Type E business visa is for meetings, conferences and other work-related trips. Through us, the Tourist eVisa is $80 USD and the Business eVisa is $90 USD, approved in 3–5 days and delivered by email, and we do not need a photo.
Check your passport’s eligibility with our eligibility checker, then apply for the Cambodia eVisa online at least a week before you fly.
The Cambodia e-Arrival Card replaced the paper immigration card, health form and customs declaration in 2024. Every traveller flying in files one, whether or not they hold a visa, and each traveller in a group files their own. It can only be submitted within the 7 days before you land, and it returns a QR code that Immigration scans on arrival.

The change for 2026 is that the form now asks for your departure date from Cambodia and your next destination. If you are flying home, that is your return date and the United Kingdom. If you are continuing to Vietnam, Laos or elsewhere, enter that instead. If you file with us and have not booked onward travel yet, our form lets you say “not booked yet” and we email you to add it later.
We file the e-Arrival Card for Cambodia on your behalf, checking every field against your passport before it is submitted. Book early and we hold your details until your window opens, then email you the QR code. Prices per traveller: $20 Standard (24 hours), $35 Rush (2 hours), $60 Super Rush (15 minutes).
For a closer look at every document and detail the card needs, see our guide to Cambodia e-Arrival Card requirements.
Cambodia has three international airports that the e-Arrival system covers. Travellers heading for Phnom Penh or the temples of Angkor will use one of the first two.
Our guide to where the e-Arrival Card is checked covers each airport and the smart gates in more detail.
The e-Arrival system lists only the three airports. Travellers crossing overland have reported filling in paper arrival forms at the border instead, but Cambodia publishes much less about land and sea arrivals, so confirm the current process for your crossing before you travel. The Thailand–Cambodia land border has been closed since 2025, so the old overland route from Bangkok is not currently an option.
See our guide to the e-Arrival Card at land and sea borders for what is known.
Ready to tick off the last item? You can file your e-Arrival Card now and we will submit it the moment your window opens.
