Can I work in Cambodia on a tourist visa?
No. The tourist visa permits sightseeing and visiting family only. Any paid work — including remote work for a foreign employer if you are physically based in Cambodia long-term — should be on a business visa to keep your status correct.
How much extra does the business visa cost?
Our all-inclusive business visa is AUD 90, AUD 10 above the tourist rate. Extensions inside Cambodia are charged separately by the General Department of Immigration.
Can I switch from tourist to business inside Cambodia?
In practice, no — you would need to leave and re-enter on the correct visa class. It is much simpler to apply for the right class from the start.
Which visa do digital nomads need?
If you are spending more than 30 days in Cambodia or actively working while here, choose the business visa. The 6 or 12-month extension is the practical path for remote workers based in Phnom Penh or Siem Reap.
Is the application form different for each class?
Same form, different class selection. You pick Tourist or Business at the start and the rest of the application is identical.
Can I bring my family on a business visa?
Yes — each family member needs their own visa. Dependents typically travel on the tourist visa unless they will also be working or staying longer than 30 days.
