Does an Aussie doing Cambodia → Vietnam → Cambodia → Laos need multiple e-Arrival Cards?
Yes — one Card per entry into Cambodia. A two-entry loop means two e-Arrival Cards, each filed inside the 7-day window before that specific arrival. The portal remembers your passport on the same login email, so the second submission pre-fills the personal block, but you re-enter the new flight number, arrival date, arrival airport, and accommodation by hand. The visa side is separate: a single-entry eVisa is used up on the first entry, so the second Cambodia entry needs a fresh eVisa or a multiple-entry option. I am doing Cambodia → Vietnam → Cambodia → Laos. How many e-Arrival Cards do I need?
Two. One Card per Cambodia air entry. The first Card covers your initial arrival into Phnom Penh, Siem Reap or Sihanoukville. The second Card covers your re-entry into Cambodia from Vietnam (assuming the second entry is by air — if you cross back overland via Bavet, the e-Arrival is not triggered). The Laos leg afterwards is not a Cambodia entry, so no third Card is needed unless you fly back into Cambodia from Laos later.
Can I file both e-Arrival Cards before the trip starts?
No. The portal rejects submissions more than 7 days before the listed arrival date. So if your second Cambodia entry is 14 days after your first arrival, the second Card cannot be filed yet at the time of the first arrival — the system will return a date-out-of-window error. The cleanest workflow is to file the first Card a week before initial entry, then file the second from your hotel WiFi mid-trip, roughly a week before the re-entry.
Does the Cambodia e-Arrival portal remember my details across multiple submissions?
Yes, on the same login email. The passport block (number, full legal name, date of birth, nationality) and contact details pre-fill from your previous Card. The flight-specific fields — flight number, arrival date, arrival airport, accommodation — are blank on each new submission and you re-enter them by hand. The customs and health declaration boxes are not pre-ticked. The memory saves about 4–5 minutes per Card across the trip.
Do I need a fresh eVisa for the second entry into Cambodia?
Yes, if your first eVisa was single-entry — which is the default for the tourist eVisa. Single-entry visas are consumed on the first crossing, so the second entry needs a fresh tourist eVisa at $80 USD (~$122 AUD), approved in 3 business days, delivered as a printable PDF by email. The alternative is a business eVisa with the multiple-entry option, suited to travellers in for meetings, conferences, sales calls or supplier visits — but for pure tourism loops, two single-entry tourist eVisas is the cleaner route.
My second Cambodia entry is overland from Vietnam via Bavet. Do I need an e-Arrival Card for that?
No. The e-Arrival Card is currently only required at the three air entry points — KTI, SAI, KOS. Overland entries via Bavet (from Vietnam) or Tropaeng Kreal (from Laos) use a paper arrival card filled at the border post, not the digital e-Arrival. So a loop that exits Cambodia by air and re-enters overland needs only one e-Arrival Card (for the initial air arrival). You still need a valid visa for the overland re-entry — that side is unchanged.
