Do Australians need a visa to enter Cambodia?
Yes. Every Australian passport holder, including infants, needs a Cambodia visa before arrival. Australia is not on Cambodia's visa-exempt list. The standard route is the Cambodia eVisa, available as a Tourist (T-Class) or Business (E-Class) visa. Both are issued electronically and emailed as a PDF approval letter you print and carry.
How much is the Cambodia visa from Australia in 2026?
$80 USD all-in (~$122 AUD) for the Tourist eVisa and $90 USD (~$137 AUD) for the Business — paid once, with everything included: photo and passport pre-checks, Aussie-timezone support, free resubmission if Immigration flags a correction, and the e-Arrival reminder before you fly. Both approved in 3 business days. The AUD equivalent is shown at checkout and on your card statement — you don't need to convert anything yourself.
How long does the Cambodia visa take from Australia?
Three business days. There is no rush option that genuinely shortens that — any service claiming a guaranteed 24-hour Cambodia eVisa is reselling the standard 3-day process at a markup. Apply at least one full week before your flight to cover weekends and any Cambodian public holiday. Around Khmer New Year (mid-April), Pchum Ben (Sept/Oct), and Water Festival (November), allow 10–14 days.
Do I need anything else besides the visa?
Yes — the Cambodia e-Arrival Card (CeA) is mandatory for every air arrival and is separate from the visa. Fourteen fields, submitted within 7 days before your flight. Our verified e-Arrival is $5 USD (~$7.50 AUD), checked end-to-end before it reaches Cambodian Immigration. The visa lets you board; the e-Arrival lets you clear immigration at Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, or Sihanoukville.
Does Cambodia require a return flight ticket for the visa?
No. The Cambodia eVisa application does not ask for a return flight ticket, an onward ticket, a hotel booking, a bank statement, travel insurance, or a vaccination record. You only need your passport, a digital photo, an email address, a payment method, and an intended address in Cambodia (a hotel name and city is enough — no booking reference required).
Can Australian permanent residents apply with their AU travel document?
An Australian PR applies on whichever passport they hold, not on their PR status. The PR card has no bearing on Cambodia's visa system. If you travel on a UK, Indian, Filipino, or any other passport while resident in Australia, your eligibility, fees, and process are determined by that passport's nationality, not by your Australian residency. New Zealand passport holders use the same eVisa as Australians.
What if my passport is expiring in less than 6 months?
Renew before you apply. Cambodian Immigration requires at least 6 months of passport validity from your date of entry, plus at least one blank page for the entry stamp. Airlines check passport validity at the Australian gate and will deny boarding if you do not meet the rule. A new passport in Australia takes 3 weeks standard or 2 business days priority through DFAT.
Can I extend my Cambodia tourist visa once I am in the country?
No, not since November 2025. The old tourist visa auto-extension ended that month. The Cambodia Tourist eVisa (T-Class) is now a hard 30-day stay with no extension. If you plan to stay longer than 30 days, you must enter on the Business eVisa (E-Class) instead, which can be extended in 1-, 3-, 6-, or 12-month blocks by a Cambodian immigration agent in-country.
