Cambodia Entry Requirements for British Travellers in 2026: Visa, e-Arrival Card and What to Expect at the Airport

The 2026 checklist at a glance

Cambodia’s entry process has changed more in the last two years than in the decade before. The paper arrival card has gone, Phnom Penh has a new airport, and the passport stamp has been replaced by an emailed v-Pass. The core requirements for British travellers, though, are short and stable. Here they are in one table.

Our main guide to the Cambodia visa for UK citizens goes deeper into the visa side; this guide focuses on how the pieces fit together and what happens when you land.

Your passport

Your British passport should be valid for at least six months beyond the date you enter Cambodia and have at least one blank page. Check the expiry date the day you book, not the week you fly. If you need to renew, do it before you apply for the visa or file the e-Arrival Card, because both are tied to the passport number and a new passport means a new number.

If you are a dual national, choose one passport for the whole trip and use it for everything: the visa, the e-Arrival Card and the immigration desk. If you hold a British passport other than a full British citizen passport, such as a British National (Overseas) passport, check your visa eligibility separately before you pay for anything.

Your visa: eVisa or visa on arrival

British passport holders need a visa for Cambodia. There are two ways to get one. The eVisa is applied for online before you travel and arrives by email. The visa on arrival is issued at the airport, which means joining the visa desk queue and paying in US dollars cash after a long-haul flight.

Most British holidaymakers use the Type T tourist eVisa. It allows a 30-day stay from the date you enter and is valid for 90 days from issue. The Type E business visa is for meetings, conferences and other work-related trips. Through us, the Tourist eVisa is $80 USD and the Business eVisa is $90 USD, approved in 3–5 days and delivered by email, and we do not need a photo.

Check your passport’s eligibility with our eligibility checker, then apply for the Cambodia eVisa online at least a week before you fly.

The e-Arrival Card, and what is new in 2026

The Cambodia e-Arrival Card replaced the paper immigration card, health form and customs declaration in 2024. Every traveller flying in files one, whether or not they hold a visa, and each traveller in a group files their own. It can only be submitted within the 7 days before you land, and it returns a QR code that Immigration scans on arrival.
