Cambodia e-Arrival Card QR Code: How to Receive It, Save It and Show It

How to show it at immigration

Have the code open, or the printout in hand, before you reach the front of the queue, together with your passport and your visa if you need one. Turn your screen brightness up, since scanners read a bright, flat screen more easily, and hold the phone steady rather than tilted.

If the scanner struggles with your phone, offer the printed copy. Having both is what turns a scanning hiccup into a two-second fix rather than a search through your photo library.

For a walkthrough of each airport and what happens there, see our guide to where the Cambodia e-Arrival Card is checked.

What if you lose your QR code?

Losing the code before you travel is fixable. Where you get it back from depends on how you filed.

If you realise you do not have your code only after landing, go to immigration with your passport and explain. It is a much better position to be in than trying to refile over airport Wi-Fi, but a far worse one than having saved it properly before you left.

If you have not filed yet and want the code emailed to you so it cannot get lost in a browser tab, you can apply online here.

Keep it after you land

It is tempting to delete the code once you are through immigration. Hold on to it. Cambodia now issues arriving visitors a v-Pass by email in place of the ink passport stamp, and the v-Pass can be retrieved by uploading your e-Arrival QR code as well as by entering your passport information. Keep the code until you have left Cambodia.

Remember, too, that the code belongs to one arrival. If you leave Cambodia and fly back in later, you will need a new e-Arrival Card, and a new QR code, for the new arrival.

Having the QR code emailed to you

When you apply for the e-Arrival Card through us, we check your details against your passport, file the card inside your 7-day window, and email you the QR code, so it is waiting in your inbox rather than in a page you might close too soon. It costs $20 Standard (within 24 hours), $35 Rush (within 2 hours) or $60 Super Rush (within 15 minutes), per traveller.

Still need a visa? The QR code is not one. You can apply for the Cambodia eVisa online: Tourist $80 USD or Business $90 USD, approved in 3–5 days.
