Why South Korean travellers need both a visa and the Cambodia e-Arrival Card

Whether you are flying direct from Seoul Incheon (ICN) to Phnom Penh for business or connecting via Vietnam or Bangkok to Siem Reap for an Angkor Wat and golf holiday, air arrival in Cambodia in 2026 requires two separate digital documents: a Cambodian visa and the Cambodia e-Arrival Card (CeA).

Even if you already have your $80 USD Tourist eVisa (Type T), your $90 USD Business eVisa (Type E), or a long-term multiple-entry E-class extension stamped in your Korean passport, you must still complete a new Cambodia e-Arrival Card before every flight into Cambodia. The card replaces the three paper forms that used to be distributed in the cabin and returns a QR code that Immigration scans on arrival.

2026 filing rules: the 7-day window, Korean given-name spacing, and onward travel fields

The Cambodia e-Arrival Card opens 7 days before your arrival date in Cambodia. To avoid delays at check-in at Incheon (ICN) or Busan Gimhae (PUS), follow these four rules when entering your details:

New in 2026, the e-Arrival form asks for your departure date from Cambodia and your next destination (whether returning to Incheon or flying on to Vietnam or Thailand). If you file with us and have not booked onward travel yet, our form lets you say “not booked yet” and we email you to add it later.

Direct flights from Incheon vs connections via Vietnam or Bangkok—and the closed Thailand border

Which flight number you enter on your e-Arrival Card depends on whether you fly non-stop or connect through another Southeast Asian city:

• Non-stop from Seoul Incheon (ICN) to Phnom Penh (KTI): Enter your direct flight number (for example Korean Air KE689, Asiana Airlines OZ739, or Sky Angkor Airlines ZA216) and select Techo International Airport (KTI).
• Connecting via Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, or Da Nang: Many Korean travellers combine Vietnam and Angkor Wat on Vietnam Airlines or VietJet. Enter the flight number of the Vietnam–Cambodia leg landing at SAI or KTI.
• Connecting via Bangkok (BKK or DMK): Enter the Bangkok–Cambodia flight number landing at SAI or KTI.
• Thailand–Cambodia land border closure: All overland border crossings between Thailand and Cambodia (including Poipet) have been closed since 2025. Do not plan to travel by bus or car from Bangkok into Siem Reap—book a flight instead.

Once you land at KTI, SAI, or Sihanoukville (KOS) and Immigration scans your passport and e-Arrival QR code, Cambodia emails you a digital v-Pass, replacing the old ink entry stamp in your passport.

What if you are visiting both Siem Reap and Vietnam on the same holiday—for instance flying from Seoul Incheon into Siem Reap (SAI), flying to Da Nang or Ho Chi Minh City for a few days, and then flying back into Phnom Penh (KTI) for your return flight home? Remember that each separate entry into Cambodia requires a valid visa for that entry, and each air arrival requires a new Cambodia e-Arrival Card filed within 7 days before that specific flight.
