Cambodia Entry Requirements for Australians in 2026: Visa, e-Arrival Card and What to Expect at the Airport
Australians need three things to enter Cambodia in 2026: a passport with enough validity, a Cambodia visa and an e-Arrival Card for every traveller. Here is what each one involves, the order to sort them in and what happens when you land.
What are the Cambodia entry requirements for Australians in 2026?
Australians need a passport valid for at least 6 months from arrival with a blank page, a Cambodia visa (most use the eVisa: $80 USD Tourist, 3–5 days) and a Cambodia e-Arrival Card filed in the 7 days before landing. At the airport, show your passport, visa and e-Arrival QR code to Immigration.
主なポイント
- Australians need a passport valid for at least 6 months from arrival with a blank page, a Cambodia visa and a Cambodia e-Arrival Card.
- The Tourist eVisa costs $80 USD, allows a stay of up to 30 days and takes 3–5 days; apply at least 7–10 days before you fly.
- The e-Arrival Card is separate from the visa and is filed by every traveller, children included, in the 7 days before landing.
- Flights land at Techo International (KTI) in Phnom Penh, Siem Reap Angkor (SAI) or Sihanoukville (KOS); the Thailand–Cambodia land border has been closed since 2025.
- At the airport you show your passport, visa and e-Arrival QR code; arriving visitors now receive a v-Pass by email instead of an ink stamp.
Cambodia entry requirements for Australians at a glance
Entering Cambodia from Australia is straightforward once you know there are three separate pieces to sort out, and that they happen at different times. The passport is checked first, the visa comes next, and the e-Arrival Card is the last job, done in the final week before you fly.
The visa and the e-Arrival Card are the two that people confuse, because both are completed online and both end in something you show at the airport. They are different documents doing different jobs, and Australians need both on every trip.
Requirement 1: your Australian passport
Your passport should be valid for at least 6 months beyond your arrival date in Cambodia, with at least one blank page. Check the expiry date before you pay for anything, because a passport that runs out too soon means renewing it first and then applying for the visa on the new passport.
- A damaged passport can cause problems at the desk. If yours is looking worn, renew it before the trip.
- If you renew your passport after applying for your visa, the visa no longer matches the passport you will present. Apply on the passport you will actually travel with.
- Dual citizens should use the same passport for the visa, the e-Arrival Card and the immigration desk.
Requirement 2: a Cambodia visa
Australian passport holders need a visa to enter Cambodia. The eVisa is the route most Australians take because it is approved before you leave home, so you land with the question already settled.
The Tourist eVisa allows a stay of up to 30 days from entry and is valid for 90 days from the date it is issued. What you need to apply is short: your passport, a clear scan of its bio page and a payment card. You do not need a flight ticket, hotel booking or bank statement, and we do not need a photo. The approved eVisa arrives by email as a PDF. Print copies to carry with your passport.
A visa on arrival is also available at Cambodia’s airports, but it means queuing to apply and pay after a long flight from Australia. With an eVisa, that part is done before you leave.

A passport valid for at least 6 months from arrival with a blank page, a Cambodia visa, and a Cambodia e-Arrival Card filed within the 7 days before landing.
オーストラリア人はカンボジアビザが必要ですか？
Yes. Most Australians use the eVisa: Tourist $80 USD or Business $90 USD, approved in 3–5 days, allowing a stay of up to 30 days.
電子到着カードは電子ビザと同じですか？
No. The eVisa gives you permission to enter; the e-Arrival Card is the arrival declaration Immigration scans when you land. You need both.
How far ahead should I apply for the eVisa from Australia?
At least 7–10 days before you fly. Processing takes 3–5 days, and weekend applications start on the next Cambodian business day.
Can I travel overland from Thailand to Cambodia?
Not at present. The Thailand–Cambodia land border has been closed since 2025, so Australians heading to Siem Reap from Bangkok need to fly.
Will I get a stamp in my passport?
Arriving visitors now receive a v-Pass by email, which replaces the ink stamp in the passport.
Do I need a photo for the eVisa or e-Arrival Card?
Not with us. We need a clear scan of your passport bio page for the eVisa and your passport details for the e-Arrival Card, but no photo for either.
