The real way to stay longer: the Business (Type E) eVisa

If you genuinely need more than 30 days in Cambodia, the route is not a tourist extension — it is the Business eVisa, also called the Type E or Ordinary visa. This is the only Cambodia visa class that can be extended from inside the country, which is what makes it the long-stay workhorse for Americans who want weeks or months rather than a quick holiday.

The Business eVisa starts the same way as the tourist one: $90 USD all-in, approved in 3 business days, delivered as a printable PDF by email. Its first entry also gives you 30 days. The difference is what comes next — once you are in Cambodia on a Type E, you can apply for an in-country extension through a local immigration agent, in 1-month, 3-month, 6-month, or 12-month blocks, and the longer extensions convert it into a multiple-entry status so you can come and go. None of that is available on a tourist eVisa.

You do not need to be running a company in Phnom Penh to use it.
