Do Hong Kong citizens need a visa for Cambodia in 2026?

For most of 2026, yes — Hong Kong SAR passport holders need a Cambodia tourist or business visa. However, Cambodia's Ministry of Tourism has confirmed a four-month visa-free pilot from 15 June to 15 October 2026 covering Hong Kong SAR passports for visits up to 14 days. Outside that window, or for stays longer than 14 days, the Cambodia e-Visa is required.

How does the 15 June – 15 October 2026 visa-free pilot work for Hong Kongers?

Between 15 June and 15 October 2026, Hong Kong SAR passport holders can enter Cambodia visa-free for up to 14 days per visit, with multiple entries allowed during the pilot. You only need to complete the digital e-Arrival Card before arrival. Carry proof of onward travel and accommodation as immigration may still ask. For stays over 14 days, an e-Visa is required.

How much is a Cambodia visa for Hong Kongers outside the visa-free window?

Is the Cambodia eVisa accepted at Phnom Penh for Hong Kong SAR passports?

Yes — the electronic visa is accepted at Phnom Penh International Airport, Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport and Sihanoukville International Airport. Outside the pilot window, all Hong Kong SAR passport holders enter on the e-Visa.

How long can Hong Kongers stay in Cambodia on a tourist eVisa?

The Type T tourist e-Visa lets Hong Kong SAR passport holders stay up to 30 days from the date of entry, with the visa itself valid for 90 days from issue. This compares with 14 days for the summer visa-free pilot — so for longer Angkor and Phnom Penh trips, the e-Visa remains the better option.

What documents do Hong Kong citizens need for the Cambodia eVisa?

You need a Hong Kong SAR passport valid for 6 months beyond entry with one blank page, a colour passport-style photo (4×6 cm, white background), and a card to pay the $80 USD tourist fee. No flight ticket, hotel booking or embassy interview is required.

Does the e-Arrival Card replace the visa for Hong Kong travellers during the pilot?

During the 15 June – 15 October 2026 pilot, the e-Arrival Card is enough for stays up to 14 days — no visa needed. Outside that window, all Hong Kong SAR passport holders must complete both the Cambodia e-Visa and the e-Arrival Card before entry.
