Visa-free travel to Cambodia for Malaysian citizens
Yes — Malaysian citizens get 30-day visa-free entry to Cambodia under the ASEAN agreement. You don't need a visa, BUT you DO need the mandatory e-Arrival form filed within 7 days of arrival, now enforced by Malaysia Airlines, AirAsia, Batik Air Malaysia and Cambodia Angkor Air at the Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor Bahru and Kota Kinabalu boarding gates. We handle the e-Arrival filing FREE for ASEAN passport holders — submit your passport and travel dates from KL, Penang, JB, Ipoh, Kota Kinabalu or Kuching, and we return the QR-code confirmation by email. Malaysia has direct daily AirAsia and Malaysia Airlines rotations from KUL to Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, making it one of the busiest ASEAN-to-Cambodia corridors.
Multiple entries are permitted within the visa-free window. No Cambodia visa application, no fees, no embassy queues. You walk up to the immigration desk, hand over your passport, and get stamped through.
What you still need before you fly:
Valid Malaysian passport (6+ months from arrival)
Completed e-Arrival form (we handle this for you)
Return or onward travel ticket (sometimes spot-checked)
Proof of accommodation (occasionally requested)
We handle the e-Arrival form for you. It's the one piece most travellers miss, and Cambodian immigration won't let you through without it.

Pro tips
Cambodia Travel Tips for Malaysian 시민
Practical advice from travellers who've been — currency, connectivity, weather, and the eVisa print rule that catches everyone out at Cambodian immigration.
Currency
US dollars are accepted almost everywhere alongside Cambodian Riel. You do not need to exchange currency before flying — small change comes back in Riel.
Best time to visit
November to April (dry season). May to October brings monsoon rains — southern coastal regions are most affected. November to February is the sweet spot for Angkor Wat.
Connectivity
Buy a local SIM at Phnom Penh or Siem Reap airport ($2–3 USD). Most foreign phones work on GSM. Metfone and Smart are the recommended carriers — both have airport kiosks.
Health
No mandatory vaccinations. Hepatitis A and Typhoid are commonly recommended. Drink bottled water only — even in major hotels. Carry mosquito repellent for evening visits to temples.
Print your eVisa
Print 2 copies of your approved eVisa on A4 paper. Cambodian immigration does NOT accept mobile screenshots. We email PDF-ready files with print instructions.

Do Malaysian citizens need a visa to visit Cambodia?
No. Malaysian passport holders are visa-exempt for Cambodia for stays up to 30 days under the ASEAN agreement. You need a passport valid 6+ months beyond entry, proof of onward travel, and the mandatory Cambodia e-Arrival form submitted within 7 days before arrival.
How long can Malaysians stay in Cambodia without a visa?
Malaysian citizens can stay in Cambodia visa-free for up to 30 days per entry. Multiple entries within the validity of the Malaysian passport are allowed — useful for ASEAN business loops via KL, Singapore, and Bangkok.
Is the Cambodia e-Arrival form mandatory for Malaysian passport holders?
Yes. Although no visa is required, every Malaysian traveller must complete the Cambodia e-Arrival form (CeA) within 7 days before arrival. It is a pre-arrival immigration, customs, and health declaration. We file it free for ASEAN citizens.
Are there direct flights from Malaysia to Cambodia?
ℹ️ Disclaimer: The total cost includes the official government fee paid to the Royal Government of Cambodia, plus our processing fee for expert application processing and 24/7 support. VisaToCambodia is an independent service — not affiliated with the Government of Cambodia. Applicants may also apply directly through the official Cambodian government portal at the base government rate.
Getting around
Tuk-tuks are everywhere — agree the fare first. The PassApp and Grab apps give metered, cashless rides in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap. Domestic flights link the major cities.
Yes. AirAsia, Malaysia Airlines, and Cambodia Angkor Air operate direct routes KL-Phnom Penh, KL-Siem Reap, and KL-Sihanoukville. From Penang, Johor Bahru, Kota Kinabalu, or Kuching, you connect via KLIA or Singapore. The e-Arrival form is filed once before final arrival.
Can Malaysians extend their visa-free 30-day stay in Cambodia?
No. The 30-day ASEAN visa-free entry cannot be extended in-country. Malaysians who need to stay longer must either exit Cambodia and re-enter to reset the window, or apply in advance for a Cambodian tourist (T) or business (E) visa via the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the official eVisa portal.
Do Malaysian children need their own e-Arrival form?
Yes. Each traveller, including infants on a Malaysian passport, needs an individual e-Arrival submission. We file family group submissions free of charge for ASEAN passport holders.
Can Malaysian citizens enter Cambodia by land via Thailand or Vietnam?
Yes. Malaysian passport holders may cross at Poipet (from Thailand), Bavet (from Vietnam), or Trapeang Kriel (from Laos). Visa-free ASEAN entry applies at all designated land borders. The e-Arrival form covers land crossings too.
Is the visa-free entry valid for business meetings or only tourism?
The 30-day visa-free entry covers tourism and short business meetings (negotiations, conferences, exploratory visits). Malaysians intending paid work, employment, or long-term study must apply in advance for an appropriate Cambodian visa class.
