Best time to visit
November to April (dry season). May to October brings monsoon rains — southern coastal regions are most affected. November to February is the sweet spot for Angkor Wat.
Connectivity
Buy a local SIM at Phnom Penh or Siem Reap airport ($2–3 USD). Most foreign phones work on GSM. Metfone and Smart are the recommended carriers — both have airport kiosks.
Health
No mandatory vaccinations. Hepatitis A and Typhoid are commonly recommended. Drink bottled water only — even in major hotels. Carry mosquito repellent for evening visits to temples.

Do Hong Kong citizens need a visa for Cambodia in 2026?
For most of 2026, yes — Hong Kong SAR passport holders need a Cambodia tourist or business visa. However, Cambodia's Ministry of Tourism has confirmed a four-month visa-free pilot from 15 June to 15 October 2026 covering Hong Kong SAR passports for visits up to 14 days. Outside that window, or for stays longer than 14 days, the Cambodia e-Visa is required.
How does the 15 June – 15 October 2026 visa-free pilot work for Hong Kongers?
Between 15 June and 15 October 2026, Hong Kong SAR passport holders can enter Cambodia visa-free for up to 14 days per visit, with multiple entries allowed during the pilot. You only need to complete the digital e-Arrival Card before arrival. Carry proof of onward travel and accommodation as immigration may still ask. For stays over 14 days, an e-Visa is required.
How much is a Cambodia visa for Hong Kongers outside the visa-free window?
