A typo on your Cambodia e-Arrival Card is fixable, and usually easy to fix, as long as you catch it before you reach Immigration. Here is what a wrong detail means, which errors matter most, and exactly what to do about it.

If you catch it before you are processed at the airport, you can edit the card and resubmit it. If you do not, the officer will see details that do not match your passport or flight, which typically means delay and questions while it is sorted out. The safest fix is to correct it before you fly.
Almost everyone who files an e-Arrival Card worries at some point that they have typed something wrong. The good news is that the system was built with this in mind. Cambodia’s own guidance is that you can edit your information and resubmit the card as long as you have not yet been processed by an immigration officer. A mistake is not a permanent mark against you.
The less good news is that “as long as you have not been processed” is doing a lot of work in that sentence. Once you are standing at the desk, the officer is comparing your card with your passport in real time. A correction that would have taken two minutes at home becomes a problem you are solving in front of a queue, tired, possibly without a working phone signal. This guide explains what a wrong detail actually means, which ones matter, and how to deal with each.
When you reach Immigration, the officer scans your QR code and looks at your passport. The card is there so that the officer does not have to take down your details by hand; if the card and the passport agree, the check is quick. If they do not, the officer has to work out which one is right and why they differ.
Cambodia does not publish a list of what officers do with a mismatched card, and it will vary with the error and the circumstances. A single wrong digit in a hotel address is unlikely to matter much. A name or passport number that does not match the passport in the officer’s hand is a different matter, because those are the details that identify you. What you should expect, in practice, is some combination of:
Not every field carries the same weight. The ones that matter most are the fields Immigration can check directly against a document in front of them.
If you hold a visa, there is a second comparison happening. The officer will also look at your visa, which was issued against your passport details. An e-Arrival Card that disagrees with both your passport and your visa raises more questions than one that is simply out of step with a hotel booking.

How you fix a mistake depends on when you notice it and how big it is.
Edit and resubmit the card. Cambodia allows changes until you have been processed by Immigration, so there is no reason to live with a mistake you have spotted. After resubmitting, save the QR code again and replace any old screenshot or printout, so you do not show an outdated copy at the desk by accident.
Some mistakes are better handled by starting again: a card filed on a passport you have since replaced, a card for the wrong traveller in a family group, or a card for a trip whose dates have moved entirely. Filing a fresh card with the correct details is cleaner than editing every field of the old one.
If you are still airside before Immigration and have a signal, correct the card on your phone before you join the queue. If you cannot, go to the desk, show your passport and QR code, and tell the officer straight away what is wrong. Being upfront is far better than hoping it goes unnoticed.
Our step-by-step guide to correcting a mistake on your Cambodia e-Arrival Card covers editing, refiling and timing in more detail.
If you would rather someone else re-checks everything and refiles it for you, you can file your e-Arrival Card now through us and we will submit a corrected card against your passport.
Every fix described above is a repair. The cheaper approach is not needing one. The e-Arrival Card takes around ten minutes to complete; checking it properly takes another two. That check is the difference between arriving with a card that matches your passport and arriving with a problem.
That kind of checking is the core of how we file the e-Arrival Card for Cambodia on a traveller’s behalf: every field is compared with the passport before submission, and if Immigration flags a correction afterwards, resubmission is free.
For the full list of errors we see, and how to avoid each one, read our guide to common Cambodia e-Arrival Card mistakes.
Sometimes a traveller discovers that the details on their e-Arrival Card are right, but their visa is wrong: a misspelt name or an old passport number on an eVisa. That is a different problem with a different fix, because a visa cannot be edited the way the e-Arrival Card can. If your visa does not match your passport, deal with the visa first and then make sure your e-Arrival Card matches the passport you will travel on.
If you have not applied for your visa yet, you can apply for the Cambodia eVisa online. Tourist $80 USD or Business $90 USD, approved in 3–5 days, and checked against your passport before submission.
