จุดเข้าประเทศกัมพูชาใดบ้างที่รองรับ eVisa สำหรับการเดินทางหลายประเทศ?

Land borders: where the eVisa works and where it does not

Land borders are where US travelers get caught out, because the rules differ by neighbor and not every crossing is equal. The eVisa is accepted at the recognized open land borders with Vietnam and Laos — but not at every minor footpath checkpoint, and not at all on the Thailand side. The rule of thumb: route through the recognized ports, and never assume a small back-road crossing will accept an eVisa.

The Vietnam-Cambodia overland leg is the most common one Americans build, usually Ho Chi Minh City up to Phnom Penh. The eVisa is accepted at the recognized Vietnam land crossings, and the busiest, most reliable one for the eVisa is the Bavet crossing on the main Ho Chi Minh City-to-Phnom Penh road. Our Vietnam-to-Cambodia land border guide for the Bavet crossing walks through exactly how US citizens use the eVisa there.

On the Laos side, the recognized crossing for the eVisa is the one on the main north-south route into northeastern Cambodia. It is quieter and slower than the Vietnam border, but the eVisa is accepted there for US travelers entering from southern Laos. Our Laos-to-Cambodia border crossing guide for the Dom Kralor route covers the practical detail — opening hours, what scans at the kiosk, and what to do if the connection is down.

The hard limit is Thailand. All seven Thailand-Cambodia land borders have been closed since June 2025, and they remained closed through the first half of 2026. That includes the famous Poipet-Aranyaprathet crossing that generations of backpackers used for the Bangkok-to-Siem Reap overland run. The eVisa cannot be used to enter Cambodia from Thailand by land right now, full stop, because the borders themselves are shut — not because the eVisa is invalid there. The fix is simple: fly that segment. A short flight from Bangkok into Siem Reap (SAI) or Phnom Penh (KTI) replaces the overland crossing and your eVisa works on arrival.

Matching your multi-country route to the right port

Here is how the accepted entry points line up against the routes Americans actually plan. The eVisa is single-entry, so you pick one accepted port to enter through, get your 30-day stay, and exit however your onward plan runs.

• Thailand then Cambodia (Bangkok to Siem Reap or Phnom Penh): fly the leg into SAI or KTI. The land borders are closed, so a short regional flight is the only way to make this connection in 2026, and the eVisa works on arrival at either airport.
• Vietnam then Cambodia (Ho Chi Minh City to Phnom Penh): overland through the recognized Bavet crossing with the eVisa, or fly into KTI. Both work — the bus is cheaper and slower, the flight is faster and removes any border-day uncertainty.
• Laos then Cambodia (southern Laos down to the northeast): overland through the recognized Dom Kralor route with the eVisa, or connect by air. The land crossing is quiet but accepted.
• Singapore then Cambodia: there is no shared border, so you fly. The eVisa works at KTI, SAI, or KOS — pick the airport closest to your first Cambodian stop.
• A pure island or beach trip: fly into Sihanouk International (KOS) and skip the capital entirely. The eVisa is accepted, and you are next to the coast on arrival.

The single most common 2026 mistake is planning the old Bangkok-to-Siem Reap overland leg without checking that the border is closed — travelers arrive at Poipet expecting to walk across with their eVisa and find the crossing shut. The second most common is using the wrong airport reference on the e-Arrival Card after the Phnom Penh code change. Both are avoidable with five minutes of planning before you book.

One eVisa, one e-Arrival Card — wherever you enter

Whichever accepted port you choose, the paperwork is the same. The Cambodia eVisa is one document — Tourist at $80 USD all-in or Business at $90 USD, approved in 3–5 days and delivered as a printable PDF by email. It is valid for 3 months from issue and gives you a 30-day single-entry stay. You do not buy a different eVisa for an airport versus a land border; the same approved PDF works at any port that accepts the eVisa.

The second document is the e-Arrival Card, and this is the one that is port-specific. It is a separate, mandatory step — 14 fields, $20 USD verified through us, submitted within 7 days before you arrive — and it asks for your port of arrival. That is where the airport code change bites: if you are landing at Techo International, your e-Arrival Card needs to say so. File it for the port you are actually entering through, not the one your route looked like three months ago when you first sketched the trip.
