Most British travellers reach Cambodia with a connection on the way, often through Doha, Dubai, Singapore or Bangkok. That changes three things on your e-Arrival Card: which flight you enter, which date counts, and when your 7-day window opens. Here is how to get each one right.

The flight that lands in Cambodia. If you fly London to Doha, Dubai, Singapore or Bangkok and then on to Phnom Penh, Siem Reap or Sihanoukville, enter the final leg’s flight number and its arrival date in Cambodia. Your 7-day window counts back from that date, not from the day you leave the UK.
Most journeys from the UK to Cambodia include at least one connection, commonly through Doha, Dubai, Singapore or Bangkok. For the flights themselves that is just logistics. For the Cambodia e-Arrival Card it matters, because the card is about your arrival in Cambodia, and a connection changes what that arrival looks like.
There are three things a connection affects: which flight you enter on the card, which date counts as your arrival date, and therefore when your 7-day filing window opens. Stopovers and separate tickets add a couple of wrinkles of their own. None of it is complicated once you see it laid out.
The e-Arrival Card asks for the flight that lands in Cambodia. Your flight out of Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester, Birmingham or Edinburgh does not go on it, however long that leg is. Only the final leg into Techo International (KTI), Siem Reap Angkor International (SAI) or Sihanoukville International (KOS) counts.
Codeshares are the other thing to watch. The same flight can carry two or three flight numbers from partner airlines. Use the flight number shown on your own booking for the leg into Cambodia, and make sure the date is that leg’s date, not the date on the first page of your itinerary.
Cambodia is on UTC+7, which is 7 hours ahead of the UK in winter and 6 hours ahead during British Summer Time. Add an overnight first leg and a connection, and it is normal to leave the UK on one day and land in Cambodia on the next.
Here is an illustrative example. You leave Manchester on a Tuesday evening, connect in Dubai overnight, and land at Techo International on Wednesday afternoon, local time. Your arrival date on the e-Arrival Card is Wednesday, and the 7-day window is counted back from Wednesday, not from Tuesday.
In practice, this only bites if you try to file at the very first moment you think the window has opened. Filing two to four days before you fly avoids the question, and by then the airline has usually finished re-timing your flights.
Our guide on when to apply for the Cambodia e-Arrival Card covers the window in more detail.
Plenty of British travellers turn the connection into a stopover: a few nights in Bangkok or Singapore on the way out, or a couple of days in Dubai. That is fine for the e-Arrival Card, but it moves your arrival date in Cambodia later, and your filing window moves with it.

Some travellers fly long-haul to a hub on one ticket and pick up a separate regional flight into Cambodia, for example from Bangkok or Singapore to Siem Reap. The rule is the same: enter the flight that lands in Cambodia, using the flight number and date from the booking for that regional flight.
The risk with separate tickets, and with tight connections in general, is that a delay on the first leg puts you on a different flight into Cambodia. If that happens, your card no longer matches. You can edit and resubmit the card as long as Immigration has not yet processed you, so update it from the hub once you have your new flight.

British backpackers have long reached Cambodia overland from Bangkok. That route is not currently available: the Thailand–Cambodia land border has been closed since 2025. If Bangkok is your hub, plan to fly on into Phnom Penh, Siem Reap or Sihanoukville, and file the e-Arrival Card for that flight.
