Besides a valid passport, British travellers need two things to enter Cambodia: a visa and the Cambodia e-Arrival Card. They are separate documents, done at different times. Here is what each one is, when to sort it, and how they work together at the airport.

Two things, on top of a passport valid for six months beyond entry: a Cambodian visa and the Cambodia e-Arrival Card. The visa gives you permission to enter and is best arranged weeks ahead as an eVisa. The e-Arrival Card is an arrival declaration filed online in the 7 days before you land.
A lot of British travellers arrive at the planning stage of a Cambodia trip thinking there is one form to fill in. There are two. The first is a visa, because UK passport holders are not visa-exempt for Cambodia. The second is the Cambodia e-Arrival Card, which every traveller flying into the country has to file, whatever their nationality and whatever visa they hold.
They are easy to confuse because both are done online, both arrive by email and both involve a QR code. But they do different jobs, they are filed at different times and neither one replaces the other. If you only remember one thing from this guide, make it this: the visa is permission to come in, and the e-Arrival Card is the declaration you make on the way in.
British passport holders need a visa for any stay in Cambodia. Most holidaymakers use the Type T tourist visa, which allows a 30-day stay from the date you enter and is valid for 90 days from the date it is issued, so you can apply comfortably before you travel. If you are going for meetings, conferences or other work-related visits, the Type E business visa is the one to choose.
You can get the visa as an eVisa before you leave, or as a visa on arrival at the airport. The eVisa is the simpler option for most UK travellers. You arrive with it already approved, you skip the visa desk queue after a long-haul flight, and you know before you board that everything is in order.
Through us, you can apply for the Cambodia eVisa online for $80 USD (Tourist) or $90 USD (Business), approved in 3–5 days and delivered by email. We do not need a photo. If you hold a British passport other than a full British citizen passport, check the eligibility checker first.
For everything else about the visa itself, including extensions and visa on arrival, see our full guide to the Cambodia visa for UK citizens.
Check your passport before you apply for anything. It should be valid for at least six months beyond the date you enter Cambodia and have at least one blank page. If it does not, renew it first: the visa and the e-Arrival Card both have to match the passport you actually travel on.

The e-Arrival Card is Cambodia’s online arrival form. It replaced three bits of paper that used to be handed out on the plane, the immigration card, the health form and the customs declaration, with a single online submission. It has been the standard way to arrive by air since 2024.
Every traveller files their own card, including travellers who already have a visa. It asks for your passport details, the flight that lands in Cambodia, your arrival airport, your departure date and next destination, where you are staying, and a short set of health and customs questions. When you submit it, you get a QR code, and that QR code is what Immigration scans when you land.
The one rule that catches people out is the timing. The card can only be submitted within the 7 days before you arrive in Cambodia. You cannot do it at the same time as your visa, weeks in advance, unless someone holds your details and files it for you when the window opens.
That is exactly what we do. When you file your Cambodia e-Arrival Card with us, we check every field against your passport, file it inside your window, and email you the QR code. Book early and we hold your details until the window opens.
Because the two documents have different timings, the simplest way to stay on top of them is to treat them as two separate jobs on your trip checklist.
Already booked and want the e-Arrival Card off your list? You can apply online here and we will file it as soon as your 7-day window opens.
When you land at Techo International in Phnom Penh, Siem Reap Angkor International or Sihanoukville International, you show your passport, your eVisa and your e-Arrival QR code at Immigration. If you chose visa on arrival instead, you go to the visa desk first and then on to Immigration with your QR code.
At Techo International, UK passports are among those the official e-Arrival system lists as eligible for the automated smart gates. Arriving visitors now receive a v-Pass by email instead of an ink stamp in the passport, so keep your e-Arrival QR code after you land as well as before.
