Here is an illustrative example. You leave Manchester on a Tuesday evening, connect in Dubai overnight, and land at Techo International on Wednesday afternoon, local time. Your arrival date on the e-Arrival Card is Wednesday, and the 7-day window is counted back from Wednesday, not from Tuesday.
In practice, this only bites if you try to file at the very first moment you think the window has opened. Filing two to four days before you fly avoids the question, and by then the airline has usually finished re-timing your flights.

Stopovers in Bangkok, Singapore, Doha or Dubai
Plenty of British travellers turn the connection into a stopover: a few nights in Bangkok or Singapore on the way out, or a couple of days in Dubai. That is fine for the e-Arrival Card, but it moves your arrival date in Cambodia later, and your filing window moves with it.
- Short stopover (a few days): your window may already be open before you leave the UK. File from home if you can.
- Longer stopover (a week or more): your window will open while you are in the hub. You will need to file from there, with an internet connection.
- Flexible plans: if you have not fixed the date of your flight into Cambodia yet, wait until you have. The card needs the actual flight.

Some travellers fly long-haul to a hub on one ticket and pick up a separate regional flight into Cambodia, for example from Bangkok or Singapore to Siem Reap. The rule is the same: enter the flight that lands in Cambodia, using the flight number and date from the booking for that regional flight.
